The Bible has much to say about being gentle, in fact gentleness is one of fruits of the Holy Spirit.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

(Gal 5:22-23)

The Bible also tells us to “test the spirits” to make sure and see if something is from the Holy Spirit or another spirit. And we have the fruits of the Holy Spirit by which we can test things.

Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.

(1Jn 4:1)

So we MUST test the spirit of those who claim to be of God and we can use the fruits of the Holy Spirit along with the rest of the Word of God to see if what people say who claim to be of God matches up with the fruits of the Spirit and the rest of God's Word. Please read the Scriptures below on gentleness and remember that gentleness is a fruit of the Spirit and then watch the following video and see if you think this is of the Holy Spirit or another Spirit – does it match up with what God says in His Word and does it match up with the Holy Spirit? In the first Scripture Jesus says that He is gentle – can you see Jesus talking like we see in this video? Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

(Mat 11:29)

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

(Eph 4:2)

But we were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children.

(1Th 2:7)

And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,

(2Ti 2:24)

to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.

(Tit 3:2)

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

(Jas 3:17)

Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.

(1Ti 3:2-3)
