Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.
(1Pe 1:22-23)

*Our souls are also purified when we obey the truth through the Spirit.
*But we can only be purified (to make clean, sanctify) in obedience through the Spirit.
*Note here, we also have a part in our sanctification, “Ye have purified your souls…”
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Eph 2:8-9)
We are saved by faith not of ourselves, but in sanctification we by obedience have a part in it.
*The result of purification is unfeigned love of the brethren.  The definition for unfeigned is undissembled, sincere, to not disguise or conceal behind a false appearance or semblance. The Greek word for “Love of the brethren” is Philadelphia (Brotherly Love).
We are to love every brother and sister with a love that is sincere, not put on a friendly face when we greet each other and in your heart there is a reservation toward them.
We are to love each other as brother’s and sister’s.  The definition for brother is: one having the same parents, one who shares a common ancestry, allegiance, character, or purpose with another.  And so are we.  We belong to a new family now.  A family that is eternal, with the same Father who is in Heaven.  It saddens me to see how easily some Christians will gossip about one another.  Sister’s in Christ who will talk about each other, mother against daughter, wife against husband, sister in one fellowship talking about the other.  It is time we stop!  And show the love of Christ to one another in purity and without hypocrisy.  Let’s bear with one another, and endure with one another.  It baffles me how we can so easily forgive and forget when our earthly brothers or sisters do something to us, but yet when a brother or sister in Christ do something we will hold a record of their wrong and have a reservation against them, even though outwardly we will smile and greet each other inwardly it’s not so pretty.  I am not stating that only sister’s do that, but I do see it more often.  If this is at all speaking to anyone, stop this, and love!
* “Love one another with a pure heart fervently”.  That is what our dear brother Peter tells us.  Let’s love one another with a pure, clean heart.  He doesn’t just end it there, he says: “fervently”.  We are to fervently love one another, which means to: intently love each other.  To have and show great emotion, and warmth torward one another.
